Todd W. Hunnewell
Legal Experience: Mr. Hunnewell began his legal career at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLC in Chicago where he represented clients on a wide variety of corporate issues including a series of initial public offerings of equity securities, several private offerings, the acquisition of four publicly traded technology sector companies, the sale of the assets of a food and beverage distributor, and the organization and maintenance of numerous legal entities. Mr. Hunnewell now concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury and insurance defense law including automobile accidents, premises liability, fire and arson, commercial trucking, religious organizations, Dram Shop and insurance coverage.
Mr. Hunnewell has successfully tried cases to verdict in the areas of General Negligence, Dram Shop and Premises Liability. Mr. Hunnewell has also successfully argued a case on appeal.
Professional Memberships: Mr. Hunnewell is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, DRI and Illinois Defense Counsel.
Education: Mr. Hunnewell earned his J.D. cum laude at DePaul University College of Law where he served on the board of the Student Bar Association and was a member of DePaul Law Review. While at DePaul, Mr. Hunnewell received DePaul’s Robson Scholarship (awarded to the top 15 students after the completion of one year of study) and earned a CALI award in Jurisprudence (an honor bestowed upon the highest grade in a particular course). Upon graduation, Mr. Hunnewell was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honors society that consists of the top 10% of all graduating law students in the United States. Mr. Hunnewell earned his B.A. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University.
Admitted to Practice: Mr. Hunnewell is admitted to practice before the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
